Project Oceanology Light House Tour

I had the privilege to go out with Project Oceanology in Groton Connecticut to photograph the Ledge Light lighthouse and the New London lighthouse. It was a grey cloudy day but it didn't rain. I enjoyed listening to the guides who explained about the history of the Ledge light and the "spooky" stories of the ghost that is supposed to live there. If you are in the area, I highly recommend signing up for the tour it was a lot of fun.

Just a few random photographs from the road trip. Enjoy.

Connecticut road trip

The first weekend in September I took off with 3 friends and randomly drove around Connecticut. A photo exersion. Oddly, I only took 124 photographs. It could be that I was driving. Nope I don't think that is it. I believe I have become picky on what's good and what's not.
We stopped at Dairy Queen for a snack somewhere in Connecticut. It was yummy french fries in chocolate ice cream. Hey don't judge till you've tried it.
Salem Country Gardens was a fun place to stop. I took pictures of this broken shed, butterfly, an abandon truck and old windows. Check them out on my flickr.

It's been along time....

I have not been on here in a while. Life has been crazy busy, which is good. I have been very active in the past two months. The weather has been beautiful allowing for some great photographs. In October on my facebook account I did a challenge; 30 days of September. I didn't realize how difficult it would be to photograph something worthwhile on a daily basis having to juggle that with work and life.

My son Joshua started his senior year this September. I cannot believe that he is already at this stage in life. It's a bittersweet thing. I love the idea that he is graduating and I am only in my 30's giving me a freedom that most people I know at my age don't have. I don't have to worry about diapers, bottle feedings, babysitters. It's like a new life ahead of me. Now don't get me wrong, I am not shoving him out the door - but having a teenager at my age to me is so much better than having little ones. I will leave the little ones up to my siblings and be an awesome Aunt.

So I am going to post a blog per event from the last two months. I hope you enjoy and I hope that I don't wait this long to post again.
